Someone gave me a free hutch recently. It’s pretty grody but still sturdy so I refurbished it a bit.
It was covered in stains and whatever finish it once had was looong gone.
Rusty hardware from where there used to be doors.
Water damage.
More damage.
Hardware out.
All sanded!
Some of the deeper water stains needed to be soaked in bleach.
Stains are gone!
All stained and varnished. Went with a cherry color to match the kitchen cabinets. It’s not the most professional restoration job but it’s a major improvement for just a few hours of work. All that’s left is to source some wood for a new back.
